1979 Mazda RX7 Ltd Edition...

About the Car:

In 1979, 3,000 of these RX7's were produced for the American market and 150 more were shipped for sale in Canada. This car is one of the 150 produced for the Canadian market and as such has a metric odometer reading in kilometers.

The car was purchased locally in 1979, driven intermittently and stored.

Currently  the car has 5,506 kilometers or 3,500 miles on the odometer.

Second owner.

Car as original except for the following:

Some components, notably tires: replaced because of age based deterioration.  All substitute parts are to  OEM or manufacturer's
spec.

Principal upgrade; the stock alternator was replaced with an  upgraded Bosch unit (internal voltage regulator), to enhance reliability.

The interior of the car  sustained some damage from mice during it's years in storage, but the impacts aren't readily apparent.

Since obtaining the car, it has been driven about 2,000 miles in the summer months, essentially to break it in.

The vehicle drives as advertised and as new.  The 5 speed and sunroof are nice touches.

The car accelerates like a rocket and corners as if on rails, it is a very cool car to drive.

The motor is tight, no oil loss, no smoke (spec. Castrol GTX 20w50).

To my knowledge this is the lowest mileage 1st. gen. RX7 in existence and possibly one of only a few of this Canadian model still around.

This is a car that essentially looks and drives like a new vehicle with a few minor flaws.

Why are we selling this car:

Since obtaining the car and driving it around a bit, we have come to realize that given this car is essentially of museum quality, it should be in the hands of a collector.

We are not classic car people and this is a classic.  It needs to be stored, shown at meets and pampered by someone who collects and loves these types of vehicles.

If you are a collector interested in a classic sports car such as this, you know how rare this car is.  If you can take care of a car like this properly, we will consider selling it to you.

We are not in a hurry to sell this car.

We will advertise here and if we cannot get the selling price of 35,000 US, and be assured it will be taken care of, it will continue to sit in storage as long as it takes.  It will not be driven again until it is moved onto a trailer for the new owner.
